Welcome to the Taumarunui Writers’ Group

The Taumarunui Writers’ Group is an informal group of writers of all abilities who enjoy sharing their work and information about writing resources, offering suggestions and critiquing work when the writer requests, holding workshops, organising the William Taylor Memorial Short Story Competition, socialising, having fun and generally supporting fellow writers.

The group was established in 2004 at the instigation of William (Bill) Taylor a local resident of the Ruapehu District and a well known and highly respected New Zealand author.

We are holding the William Taylor Memorial Heartland Short Story Competition again in 2018 and are pleased to announce the support of Taumarunui cosmopolitan Club in holding the competition.

We would love to see you at one of our workshops, writing days or meetings and invite you to join us to enjoy helpful support and good camaraderie.
